Project Background

Cleveland Heights is taking a fresh look at its parks, playgrounds, recreation facilities, and programming —and we want you to be part of the process!

The City is creating a 10-year Parks, Recreation, and Open Space (PROS) Master Plan to guide future investments in the places and programs that help us stay active, connected, and grounded in nature.

This plan is more than a checklist—it’s a chance to reimagine how our public spaces can better serve everyone in Cleveland Heights. With equity and sustainability at its heart, the PROS Master Plan aims to make sure all residents—no matter your age, background, or neighborhood—have access to safe, welcoming, and high-quality parks and recreation opportunities.

From beloved local landmarks like Cain Park and Forest Hill to hidden gems tucked into neighborhoods, we’ll be reviewing every corner of our parks system. The City is working alongside a team of consultants, community members, and partner organizations to explore new ideas, listen closely, and shape a bold vision for the future—one guided by data, national best practices, and, most importantly, your input.

Whether you’re a dog walker, tennis player, hiker, swimmer, skater, artist, gardener—or just enjoy a quiet picnic under the trees—this plan is for you. Let’s plan a greener, more connected, more vibrant Cleveland Heights—together.
